We focus entirely on issues related to divorce, custody, and all related issues that you see listed in our areas of practice.

Our principal attorney, James W. Evans (known as “Jimmy”) is Board Certified in Family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, is a member of the Texas Family Law Foundation, a member of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists, and is currently in the review process of obtaining an “AV” rating with Martindale Hubble.

Our team consists of a paralegal board certified in family law by the Texas board of Legal Specialization since 1995, a graduate of the University of Texas with a tax and finance background, and a retired elementary school principal. Combined, our team brings a very comprehensive and unique perspective.

Evans Family Law Group provides thorough and comprehensive family law services in the most simple to the most complex family law matters, including from divorce, child custody, child support, modifications of prior orders, and enforcement of court orders.

With 17 years in practice and over 100 jury trials to our credit, Mr. Evans has proven himself to be effective in and out of the courtroom.

We understand that divorce and custody disputes are life changing events. We understand the emotional and the financial costs. We take pride in our ability to resolve your case in a professional, collaborative, and dignified manner by agreement, but all the while keeping a watchful eye on protecting our client’s rights – whether it be property or the rights as it relates to your children.

More importantly perhaps, Mr. Evans would say he is a husband and father of two. On staff we have a father of two, a mother of four, a mother of kiddos in college, and a proud grandmother. We understand the value of a bonded relationship with your children and, of course the damage done when a parent is not “plugged in” and, how abandonment, abuse, or substance abuse can have a devastating impact on you and your children. We also are experienced in cases involving children with special needs and making sure that the issues that come with children with special needs are taken into consideration throughout the process.

However, for all kinds of reasons, sometimes disputes simply cannot be resolved by agreement. Divorce and custody are often times more about “control” and a party stubbornly takes a position. We have learned to make this an advantage for our clients. Mr. Evans takes pride in his background and that of the team at Evans Family Law Group, that we like to say we know how and, most importantly, when to pick these battles to reach the maximum result in your case. As a result, we work hard to efficiently manage limited financial resources for legal fees but work to achieve excellent results.
